Today, in the heat of a Florida summer  day, I confirmed that anything which you may do in front of someone else wiil be an object of comparison with that person’s ability to do likewise.

I leave the conclusion of this statement to your imagination

Ponder whether constant comparisons are productive in your life and whether they are simply inevitable.

Maybe this is how we grow.

Has reason slipped through the cracks into the open light? Are the people around the world gaining cognition about their previous delusions which have caused interminable torment? Are the roaring flames of the propagation of the various ideologies beginning to subside? Look around dear friends and find some souls that are not ranting and raving. Bathe your thoughts in a wee bit of comfort while you notice the propagation of the allies of Reason. It may be an idle dream but I feel humans touching love’s emerging beauty. How sweet the change! Stay aloft in exultant jubilation.

SRQ 5/21/’09

Nobody knows what this acronym stands for. We all know that it’s an abbreviation for the Sarasota-Bradenton airport but why SRQ???? So I have dubbed it thusly:

Sarasota Regional Quatsch

Quatsch is a German exclamation for “twaddle”.

Sarasota showed her great diverse nature last night. There was a serenade to my friend by a Columbian guitarist, a visit to a most fascinating woodcraft shop which had 5000 feet of tools, elegant woods, and a built in workshop, a promenade down a street full of watchamacallit shops culminating with an open air pool-room. Then, for an encore out of nowhere, not too far away a Bulgarian Coffee shop popped up hosted by a young Polish man and a daughter of Bulgaria. To top it off a lover’s quarrel was witnessed which had a happy ending. The man carried his lady on his shoulders into a black pickup truck. She then got out, and voluntarily returned to live happily ever after. Twilight came and the magic chariot that carried me through all this delivered me to my door. It was piloted by a Fairy Szary Princess. The night spun on as the dreamy world whisked my soul on a hayride. Many hours later, at sunrise, the real and the fantastic merged.

This morning felt really different. It was without people. How do we cope with silence around us? The struggles of humanity seemed to be temporarily halted. Present was wind, sun, birds, squirrels, dogs without their masters, and the consequent sounds from all of these. It brought me back to a lonely street in Brooklyn,N.Y. in the 1930s. I was not ten years old and was conscious of the surrounding elements. Then, as I walked down the street all was vibrating to life’s pulse. Why do I think that this pulse is less now? Mayday was always a time for celebration. This Mayday was quiet, lonely, and full of tears that never flowed. All around me, all the day long, were ghoulish two legged forms evidencing their plight as they joined the struggle to exist. As luck would have it, I had food and shelter money. Others were treading on very thin ice and some fell in the water. May 1st,’09 was very still and very eerie. Far, far away I have offspring trying ever so hard to squeeze into a niche. It’s my instinct to help them do this. Once again I shall rely on Lady Hope, who is ever present when we need her most.

This afternoon it’s warm. All peoplespeaks are finished. Friends and family are comforting memories. Hope enters as the curtain parts. She and I are alone during these precious moments. Yesterday’s sledge ride melts as the now enters. There are glorious stones to be cut, settings to be cast, pages of heartfelt music to be written, abstract paintings waiting to be born, acts of kindness at every turn, and a host of obligations to be fulfilled. The process called “living” is reborn in thought and with your help Ms. Hope, we’ll begin again. Happy New Year to all.

The American people are being hammered by redundant election cliches and an economic situation which speaks of their inability to function. After being “raised” by caring parents we go out on our own into the world at large and try to find a niche in which to function. There is competition for all the means which might achieve this. The wonder of specialization and a means of exchange for our labor (money) allows the billions of humans to find something useful to do. The rush for wealth causes many panics because of the lack of organization. Bubbles are created which burst and wars take place as one ideology tries to ram its contents down the throats of many who are cool towards it.  It has always been going on this way. Opportunism is part of all life. People have been trying to find the “whys” for centuries. Look at the plants and animals around you and savor the hours of your presence amongst them. Compassion for things in this world affords us peace and happiness. These are paramount. Ciao bella, JBS

August 19 and Bliss

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jay @ 11:42 am

A very pleasant relief from scorching sunlight and oppressive heat has come upon us. After being bombarded by storm warnings and flood warnings and after mandatory evacuation orders of my home, I awoke this morning to refreshing breezes and temperatures which please the human soul. There was a wonderful feeling of empty space as the lack of traffic took effect on my consciousness. The brainwashed masses once again believed what they heard and gleefully prepared for the disaster. It made them feel very important to participate in a potential hurricane. Yet, on this day, we saw calm, refreshing weather clothing us. The schools are closed as are many businesses. A wondrous dream has come true. There is peace for a short while. Imagine if the masses were convinced to propagate a rational world of compassion. Could we stand it?

I tweaked the butterfly’s mustache

While wending through a normal day

And found the secret to all things.

It all matters and it always has:

For every piece of life

Chasing vim and vigor******************

And that’s how we get by………….

Its all about STRUTTING

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jay @ 2:58 pm

Wanting to be noticed, the human wears a

Uniform that stands out in a crowd.

Then, calling attention to itself,

It makes noises appropriate to its goal.

It frets, balks, whines, and  oftentimes becomes

Violent in a very obnoxious way.

This is also true of other forms of life.

And so life turns out to be self serving.

It must be in order to survive.

So—————————-

As we accomodate the forms around us

With gifts of recognition, kindness, affection

And even Love,

The light of contentment will brightly shine.

Can we put rivalry aside and live peacefully?

A penny for your thoughts!!
