The world is full of hungry fish. All have no questions and simply “are”.  Finding a place amongst them is not easy but do-able. If one thinks like a caveman and is at home with nature it might work out. Incidentally, what happened to compassion? It might appear again in a different costume. Keep your eyes open!!!

Cataclysm

Filed under: Store News — Tags: , — Jay @ 7:04 pm

I have moved from a shop where my soul was buried beneath possessions of great interest. It was the 6th time that this happened within fifty years. The moves have grown progressively worse because of the nuances that occur in greater number each time. There is no end game to this last one yet. My family and I are in the plan. My fervant wish is to be given the chance to produce art works,(jewelry, music, & graphics).  While the clock ticks I am in a state of recovery waiting for the opportunity to put some energy into a new piece. I hope the exuberance always remains present.

New Years Eve, 2009

Filed under: Philosophy — Tags: — Jay @ 11:55 am

If life were all that bad I wouldn’t be writing this. ‘09 has awakened us. We are indeed fragile and dependant on each other to provide the means of exchange to function (money). The following might be helpful: 1–Be Humble  2–Give due respect to all life  3-Pay homage to those that came before and made the present possible. As you pursue your goals with the hope of success tread lightly so that your “footprint”  is not destructve  4–Keep Love in your heart for the forces of all the good things around  5–Enjoy every hour of life’s adventure as much as possible  6–Success equals Happiness  7–Give “Thanks” in your heart for all that you have and enter the New Year with gladness.

Original Paintings ++++ Laminated Prints

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , — Jay @ 1:56 pm

At 2809 North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, Florida, one can find a workshop full of paintings by Jay B. Starker. They are reminders of the abstract movement of the twentieth century. There are 21st. century laminated inkjet prints which, although small (8″/10″ & 11″/17″ ) are powerful and formidable. If you would like an eyefeast which will give you pleasure for a lifetime pay a visit to this unusual place. P. S. There are lots of other goodies!

Somebody said———-

A media squashblossom said “the recession is over”. What a wonderful fantasy to live by. So I’m going to act accordingly. As Christmas bells approach the open doors to my shop are calling all to enter. If you and your canine and children decide to take this course of action you will be rewarded by a hodge-podge museum of handmade “things”. If you make a purchase it will afford you a lifetime of pleasure.

Afghanistan-A Possible Solution

Filed under: Philosophy — Tags: , — Jay @ 4:15 pm

Foreign troops are in Afghanistan “strutting”. Noone likes to see military uniforms in their streets. So— Take off the uniforms and wear work clothes and stop making one’s self visible. Blend, blend, and blend again. Single male foreigners to this land who are available should consider marrying some of these beautiful, intelligent, and savvy women. A mindset of constuctive work is needed to feed the nation. The children produced will cause unbreakable bonds to be formed. All the politcal groups will become subordinate to the daily needs of these extra-ordinary people. New crops to feed everyone will be introduced. The picturesque mountains could become tourist hangouts for people that want to be in dramatically unusual places–etc.   etc. These diverse political elements will begin to realize that their greatest asset is the love between each other that turned into blind hatred. From humble beginnings, love’s spark will ignite the flame that will give Afghanistan a prestigious place in the sun and a degree of prosperity and comfort that will please it’s people.  Am I asking for the Impossible?

2012

Filed under: Mystery — Tags: — Jay @ 3:29 pm

One half hour before midnight December 31, 2011 there is a vile odor permeating the entire earth. As if by magic tiny foul smelling small insects with tiny wings inundate everything. Life as we know it is slowing down. Humans cannot breathe without inhaling these creatures. Once inside the body they simply explode, They are coming from the planet Ognosis. They are souls inside insect bodies. They have decided to replace the earth’s human population by means of a metamorphic trans-migration and transformation. Now all human souls will go to the planet Ognosis and remain there for 100 million years while Ognosians take over earth. When 2012 arrives they will become two legged minicreatures and make all the important decisions that humans couldn’t handle. They don’t comunicate with each other. All will become obnosified and cleanly traquelled. Have no fear people, it won’t hurt a thing+++++++
